More like a Game than a Lesson
Our apps are inspired by video games like “Guitar Hero” and drum sequencers from the 1980’s. Setting parameters such as speed and volume for each song allows users to ‘Level Up’ their musical skills as they play.
Based on Award-Winning Research
Whacky Wizards was created as part of a Music Education research project which was awarded the Governor General’s Gold Medal – The highest academic achievement possible at a Canadian University.

The Song Wizard
Our most popular app – The Song Wizard – helps users play songs together simply by following the dropping balls that match their individual Boomwhackers™ colours.
The Rhythm Tutor
The Rhythm Tutor helps users understand and play basic rhythmic patterns. It can be used with Boomwhackers™, or any other instruments that can create high and low sounds.
The Whacky Looper
The Whacky Looper takes the Rhythm Tutor to the next level, allowing users to play up to 8 rhythmic patterns at once, and easily create their own compositions.
Please note – All of our apps require the use of Boomwhackers™ percussion tubes.
